To be completely honest, I was shocked by this solution. However, being shocked isn’t always a good thing.

This mouthpiece was definitely not what I was expecting. I strongly suggest that you keep reading. It’s for your own good.

How It Works

Like many snoring solutions on the market, the NoRonco mouthpiece is a jaw retaining device. It works by pulling the jaw forward while you sleep. When the jaw is pulled forward some people are able to avoid snoring.

This is not true for all people though, for example those that snore because of their nose. This method has been proven to be effective for some in clinical settings many times over the years. This device may not sound bad so far but it will soon, believe me.

Background

This is where everything this solution had going for it starts to fall apart. First of all, if you try to look this device up you will surely notice that all of the information is provided in another language.

Everything is in Portuguese. That is because the company that makes this mouthpiece is based in Brazil. Since that is the case the FDA is not very concerned about them or this product.

The BBB does not have any information about them either. I do not believe that the BBB keeps an eye on anyone in that particular region. Also, from what I could translate this mouthpiece does not have any kind of guarantee.

Differences

There aren’t any major differences between this device and the many others like it. Maybe it would be more appropriate to say that there are not any major positive differences.

Perhaps there was a feature or two that got lost in translation. It doesn’t look like it, but it’s possible. I would have to say that the biggest difference is that this mouthpiece is fairly new when compared to its competition.

Real World Use

Before I tell you too much about how it actually works for most people, I just want you to know that this was the part that shocked me. It really is rare to see such a long list of complaints for a device as simple as this one.

There were multiple complaints of serious jaw pain. Sometimes it lasted 3 weeks or longer! That is entirely unacceptable. There’s just no good reason for it.

I wasn’t the only one who didn’t like this mouthpiece though. The long lists of complaints included headaches, drooling, discomfort, and an overall bad fit. User reviews this bad are normally hard to come by but not for this product.

Conclusion

I was extremely disappointed with this mouthpiece. It may be new but it is very basic and causes many people pain. With the way some others have described it I wouldn’t be surprised if this product was actually dangerous.

I have to recommend avoiding this device. It is not comfortable, causes a lot of issues, and may not be safe to use for a long period of time. Do yourself a favor and find another snoring solution that won’t wreck your jaw.
