Welcome to what, in my opinion, is the most comfortable anti-snoring device I know: The neat, non-intrusive GMSS or Good Morning Snore Solution.
Extremely safe, really comfy, and very effective, I believe this product is way ahead of its competitors in its design and approach to how it both reduces and stops snoring.
That’s right, after years and years of trying to find The Answer to my noise filled nights I have found something that truly delivers: The GMSS.
From the very moment I started using this mouthpiece it easily provided me the best all round experience I have ever had with any anti-snoring product and believe me, I’ve tried most of them.
It has advantages right across the board, from ease of use, to comfort and safety, to being a solution for those who can’t use other kinds of mouthpieces. It’s accessible to all and everyone; no matter the dental or oral appliances you use or wear.
If, like me, you simply have to own the least intrusive, most comfortable, safest and easiest to use device available then you can’t go wrong with this all in one mouthpiece. A device is designed so well that you essentially don’t know you’re wearing it.
Unlike Mandibular Advancement Devices (MADs), which are also manufactured and sold to help reduce or stop snoring, this product does not sit inside your mouth. Neither does it leave you with painful aches and pains round the jaw, neck and face. Why? Well, for one, it does not push your lower jaw forward and hold it in an unnatural position all night. A process that can leave you feeling sore in the morning, plus, being much less intrusive it doesn’t affect the natural form and shape of your mouth.
What it does instead is cleverly hold your tongue in position. Performing this neat little trick achieves the same results as any MAD, but without the pain and intrusion.
Rather than aggressively pushing your jaw forward the GMSS captures the tip of your tongue in a “bulb”, using an approach known as “tongue displacement”.
This is a major advantage. Using this approach to reduce or stop your snoring, via the process of suction, your tongue is held in position; this prevents your airway from becoming blocked while also preventing loose tissues from setting up a rhythm of vibrating noise i.e. snores.
OK, so it works, isn’t intrusive, and is very comfortable. What’s the catch? What do I have to do to set it up?
No adjustments. No cutting. No boil-and-bite. Nothing. It’s as simple as this: Open your GMSS, give it a rinse and wear it.
So significant, and so impressed am I by this product’s safety properties, that I feel it warrants a section all unto itself.
In the simplest terms the GMSS does not cause problems that you can suffer from if you use a MAD. The way in which it engineers a night of peaceful sleep is, in my opinion, the absolute safest way in which you can secure quality rest. No other anti-snoring mouthpiece comes close to it because there are essentially no after-effects from using it.
Unlike many other mouthpieces it does not fight against the natural positioning of your jaw or teeth. There is no way that the GMSS can adversely affect your bite, your facial expression, your muscles, or the workings of the joints in your jaw. It just makes no impact on them.
If you don’t already know, the vast majority of MADs use the upper front and lower back teeth to hold your jaw in a forward position. With these kind of forces in play there’s always a chance that you’ll wake in the morning with real aches and pains in and around your teeth.
Also, by having your lower jaw pushed forward and held in place as you sleep you are more than likely to experience stiffness or pain in your jaw and facial muscles, at least for the first few days. With the GMSS, none of these issues are going to be a problem.
Jaw muscles, as we all know, are for opening and closing your mouth; they are not supposed to be stretched forward. So when they are held in unnatural positions for an extended period of time they will begin to complain! They will ache, and feel sore. It’s somewhat like doing a half marathon without having trained beforehand; imagine how your legs would feel the next day, even a week later. Exactly!
These mild to moderate side effects, although uncomfortable, can usually be navigated without much trouble and will usually disappear within a week or so.
However, although rare, there have been much more severe problems with issues such as overbite and jaw alignment.
Having the jaw pushed forward for so many hours a day can run the risk of seeing your jaw remaining in a forward position once the piece is removed. The muscles can become so used to resting in this position that they remain there. You then have an overbite, which is a very serious problem, one that is both difficult and very expensive to remedy.
Also, because they are constantly under pressure to hold the mouthpiece in place, users of MADs can end up having loose teeth. Once again, this is not a common side effect but it is something that you need to be aware of.
All of these uncomfortable, painful, and possibly dangerous, and certainly costly, issues are not a problem with what is I believe the safest, most trouble free anti-snoring mouthpiece available. In fact, I am so impressed by the design that I am always tempted to add another S to the GMSS acronym for “Safety”.
There are no anti-snoring products on the market today that aren’t going to have some kind of downside, but the GMSS has the fewest by far. How many exactly? Well, I have found three. That’s right, three, of which one is merely a temporary inconvenience at worst.
The temporary problem is this: Some people experience some level of localized discomfort on first using it. This is because all that loose tissue in and around your throat and neck is held in place by having your tongue “captured” by its tip. So, understandably some soreness may occur as you begin wearing the GMSS.
You can easily lessen any soreness by reducing the amount of suction you use. Plus, over time, perhaps as little as a few days, your tongue becomes accustomed to being ‘grasped’ by the bulb, and before you know it, “Hey presto”, no more tender tongue.
Secondly, you cannot breathe through your mouth while using it, so, if you are a mouth breather then keep the GMSS to one side until your nose and sinuses are congestion free. If you wear a device that doesn’t allow for mouth breathing with a blocked nose can be extremely dangerous, as you are essentially not breathing. So always be sure your clear to breathe freely.
Another issue is a disadvantage if you look at it from a MADs user’s perspective. A side benefit to those who use MADs is that they stop bruxism or teeth grinding. The GMSS does not keep your upper and lower teeth separated, as it sits outside your mouth, so it will not prevent a battle of the teeth if you do suffer bruxism.
Let’s get this out there. This is a proven product. Clinically tested. This is a device that has been put through its paces by extensive clinical studies that have clearly shown it to work. Effectively.
The studies provided results that show how the GMSS significantly reduced snoring in more than 70% of users. These are the kind of results snorers, and those around them, have been waiting for. There’s no need to suffer tiredness, low levels of productivity and a low sex drive due to lack of quality sleep because the results are in.
Listed in both Europe and Canada as a Class I device it can be used for mild to moderate Sleep Apnea and Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Believe it or not very few MAD mouthpieces have actually been registered anywhere as a Class I device even though many MAD manufacturers still make the claim that their product works for those who suffer from mild to moderate Sleep Apnea and Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
This level of excellence in design is reflected in its price. The GMSS is not cheap. One unit at its full retail price comes in at $129.94, though you can purchase it at its regular sale price of $104.94 (includes free carrying case).
Yet, let’s be honest here, combining an on average 12-month lifespan with those all-important clinical studies, it more than delivers a high level of cost-effectiveness.
From a personal point of view the simple sentence, “There is nothing better”, best sums up my feeling for this exceptional product.
I haven’t found anything that comes equipped with the level of safety and comfort that the GMSS is loaded with, but don’t just take my word for it. Give it a try.
Please go ahead and experience the comfort of the soft malleable material that sits on the outside of your mouth. Enjoy the ease of use and for those people who have crowns, bridgework, caps, or who use dentures, finally you have full accessibility to a top-drawer product.
I am not saying it’s absolutely perfect, that it’s as though some miraculous occurrence befell me. No, it isn’t absolutely problem free, but it’s as close to perfect as I have come to finding amongst the many anti-snoring devices I have tried.
Of course there is every chance that, as I did, you may suffer some temporary tongue-tip soreness, but besides that? Well, perhaps there is one more thing. For example, have you ever tried a new brand of sneakers or ever worn boxer shorts when you usually wear briefs, or vice versa? Weird, right? Right.
Well, that’s how it was when I first tried the GMSS it felt just like that: Weird. Yet, within no time at all it really was as though it wasn’t there and that is how it has continued to be, hassle and pain-free. All the while securing me night after night of blissful sleep and that is what is absolute key: Quality sleep. Then you are rested, energized and ready to get back to controlling your professional and private life as a fully rested, alert, productive and attentive human being!
So, yes, it can seem relatively expensive at $104.94 for one (includes free carrying case), but if you demand results that are clinically proven, a level of comfort that is unsurpassable, and exceptional safety built in through design, then please do try the highly recommended mouthpiece, the GMSS.
CAUTION: Before you jump in and seal the deal with any anti-snoring devices that are worn be absolutely sure to speak with your doctor first. There’s every chance you could be a sufferer of Sleep Apnea.
Sleep apnea is a serious condition that can bring on strokes or high blood pressure. So please do be sure to consult with your professional healthcare giver before using any medical devices such as anti-snoring mouthpieces.
